The
following are pictures of bulls that sold in our November 2001
Romagnola Fullblood Bull Sale at the Ranch.
They show some young bulls, most around 18 months of age,
produced by selecting genetics from outstanding seedstock
individuals. Much of this gene pool comes from modern bulls we
have recently imported from Italy that are exclusive to our
program. These bulls were performance tested at the genetic test
station in Italy called Anabic, and they are in the top
categories for performance and conformation traits that set this
breed apart. |
| Lots 1, 2, 3, 5,
and 7 represent the Italian import bull "Ergum" that
is an exclusive bull to Cherokee Hills. He is the Italian
National Grand Champion bull in 2000 and is by "Metro"
and out of the cow named "Umbria". The bulls are out
of two donors called "Silk N' Satin" (Swordale Marco x
Bonnie Gal) and Famosa (Charlee x Carolee). These donors are
either champions or daughters of show champions. "Ergum"
sires elegant show stock that are very smooth, docile, and
eye-appealing. They are very correct and full of meat. |

LOT 13
|
|
Lot
10 is a Canadian Telestar son, out of an Orlone daughter, which
represent some of the
original genetics that came through Canada to the United States
years ago. Lot 13 is a Monello son,
also out of the original stock from Canada. We have a full
brother working in our herd. |
|

LOT 15
Lot 15 is an example of a son of one of our exclusive imported
bulls named "Bulgaro" (Bul' ga ro). He is known for
offspring that are very correct with good feet, legs, and
skeletal structure. The bulls become even more impressive as
they mature. This line is an outcross to almost everything in
the U.S., which is the rare Fiasco, Furiosa, and Balero
bloodlines.
|

LOT 21
Lot 21 shows a "Dingo" son, another exclusive import
for Cherokee Hills, who is sired by the great Italian bull
"Azzuro", sire of "Calore". He also produces
very smooth, well balanced calves with good bone, feet,
legs,
and muscularity.
|

LOT 22
Lot 22 is a "Caronte" son, also exclusive to our
program. He is by the great Usignolo and carries outcross
genetics to the base herd that came in originally through
Canada. His calves develop lots of frame and bone and tremendous
rapid muscling. They have gentle dispositions and show top
performance and feed efficiency.

|

LOT 24
Lot 24 demonstrates the power of "Dublino", son of the
2001 National Grand Champion bull in Italy known as "Bartolo".
Also exclusive to our program, he is known for performance,
muscularity, and soundness of feet and legs.
|

LOT 27
Lot 27 is by our exclusive import bull from Italy known as
"Cesare". This bull is a Lubio son, also known for
performance through the Italian genetic test station. He
produces very smooth, correct, and balanced offspring. He is the
grandsire of our herd bull "Charlee".
|

LOT 29
Lot 29 represents the Italian bull "Uranio". This bull
is a producer of calves that have lots of muscling, producing
powerful sons and daughters.
|

LOT 31
Lot 31 is by our Italian import bull known as "Charlee".
Consistency in producing sons and daughters that excel in
muscling, length, height, and good frames is this bull's mark of
excellence. He still is the main herd sire at Cherokee Hills,
and has been scored over 90 by the Italian grading method by Dr.
Matteo Ridolfi, internationally known judge and field evaluator
of Romagnola cattle for all of Italy. "Charlee" has
produced many herdsires that are working in herds across the
country, and there are several that have been retained by us for
breeding. His influence runs deep in our program. |

LOT 35
Lot 35 is by our herd bull "Gavinchi", and "Charlee"
son. He is a Junior National Grand Champion bull and proven
himself in our program. His calves are small at birth, and his
daughters are excellent milkers. His dam in an "Unno"
daughter, and this bull is known especially for these traits.
"Gavinchi" calves have good dispositions and excellent
conformation and muscling. |
|

"Hitchhiker" and his
brother "Farragamo" are both National Grand Champion
bulls. They are
good illustrations of "Ande", another of our Italian
imports. His influence runs throughout our herd,
and we have several females working as donors. There are many of
his sons and daughters across the
country in top Romagnola herds. There is also a large influence
of his progeny in Australia where he is
considered one of the best Italian bulls ever imported to that
country.
